Spinach update July, 23, 2026
Our spinach seeds from the last post have germinated. Going forward i will allow all the seedlings to grow for about 6-9 days. then i will harvest some of it as baby spinach so that the lettuce plants are separated by 3 to 5 inches. This will reduce over crowding and encourage more growth. To further promote growth i will be fertilizing with water soluble fertilizers at one third strength with every watering.
The Fertilizer I'm Using
I'm using Fox Farm's Grow Big, I'm using this fertilizer Because its good for all my vegetables and not just spinach. furthermore I'm going to add some worm tea to further encourage good leaf development.
